Fawzi Rahman

Founder/CEO

Fawzi Rahman is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Shadow, with a professional focus on cross-border trade, investment advisory, and the buying and selling of raw materials between Africa and Europe. Mr. Rahman advises clients on commodity sourcing, trade structuring, partner identification, and investment execution, supporting transactions involving processed cocoa products, shea butter, green coffee beans, cashews, and other strategic commodities. His work emphasizes commercial viability, regulatory alignment, and efficient supply-chain coordination across multiple jurisdictions. He brings practical experience from surface mining engagements in Ghana and Sierra Leone, where he has been involved in project coordination, stakeholder management, and commodity-related activities connected to gold and coltan. This experience strengthens his understanding of resource-sector operations and cross-border trade dynamics. In parallel with his consultancy activities, Mr. Rahman has 25 years of professional experience in retail pharmacy. Trained as a pharmacist, he has built and managed pharmacy operations within highly regulated environments, developing strong expertise in compliance, logistics, and disciplined business management.

As CEO, Mr. Rahman leads strategic engagements that connect producers, buyers, investors, and partners, facilitating sustainable trade relationships and long-term commercial value across African and European markets.


 

Haris Shahid

Strategy/Healthcare Consultant

With over two decades of experience across the healthcare ecosystem, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and clinical research, Haris is a strategic consultant advising life sciences companies on growth, sustainable business models, and innovation. His work emphasizes ecosystem development, ESG-driven sustainable finance, and social impact, focusing on the optimization of biotech portfolios within precision medicine and gene therapies. Haris provides key insights on the commercialization of biotechnology innovations, facilitates the implementation of health AI solutions, and supports senior management teams to deliver transitions from public to private funding models. He has secured institutional funding, fostered genomics collaborations, and built partnerships aligned with policy frameworks, investor priorities, and regional healthcare objectives. Grounded in senior healthcare management, Haris co-creates strategies that integrate diverse ecosystems, enhance operational efficiency through impact and digital investments, and promote equitable access to healthcare innovation across the UK, Europe, and the GCC'.

 

Darren Hyman

Commercial Director

Darren Hyman is the Commercial Director at Sterling Shadow, with over a decade of experience across East Africa’s energy and resources sectors. Based between London and Kampala, he connects fuel buyers with vetted international suppliers, structuring secure and efficient supply chains for petrol, diesel, and LPG. Darren combines regional expertise with global market access, supporting compliant procurement, logistics coordination, and commercially sound transactions. His approach is built on transparency, risk management, and long-term partnerships across East Africa and international markets.
